Roids, what roids?

Raphael Palmeiro was suspended today after testing positive for steroids. Back in March, during the Congressional hearings on steroids, I wrote, "Still, just look at Palmeiro's numbers before and after Canseco was added to the team, and you have to be suspicious."

During his testimony to Congress, Palmeiro said, "Let me start by telling you this: I have never used steroids. Period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never."

In a statement today after testing positive, he said, "I have never intentionally used steroids. Never. Ever. Period,"

Hmmm...I don't quite believe him. Period.
