Privatization of the Internet

With the rapid expansion of broadband internet in the US, the internet as we know (or knew) it is actually coming under attack. The telephone and cable companies are trying to push laws that would allow them to more tightly control the internet and thus make more money. It will stifle much of the freedom and creativity that was born out of the internet revolution. Read more here and here. No matter what happens, it looks as though the consumer is going to end up having to pay more in the future.
