World Series

Well, the Rockies lost their mojo and lost the series to the Red Sox. The Red Sox deserve the title, as their pitching, hitting, managing, and scouting were all well above the Rocks. The wife and I had the good fortune of getting to go to Game 3 of the World Series, and it was an awesome experience. The excitement and buzz in the crowd were tangible, and it was amazing to see so many Rockies fans pushing for the home team. I was actually surprised by how few Boston fans were at the game. The crowd even helped infuse some energy into the Rockies after they fell behind, and they rallied in the sixth and seventh innings to come within a run of the Sox. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be and Boston took the game. Still, it was an experience that I will never forget. Let's hope that the ownership and management make the right decisions and keep this team together for a few more years. It would be great to see them back in the post season without having to wait another 12 years.

I went to Game 4 and was disappointed at the lack of a tangible feeling of excitement/intensity in the crowd. Maybe tough to generate that when your team's down 0-3. Noteworthy: At Nugs opener last night the crowd did the Tulo chant. I guess there you're supposed to change Melo. Rockies won out, though. Hope it sticks like that all season.

"change Melo" > "chant Melo"

Glad you got to make a game Nialita. I was able to attend Game 4 and as Joel said, the crowd wasn't into it but that was because we were 1-0 after the first. The crowd came back into it before they put the "crowd killer" Fuentes in. He honestly blew game 3 and 4 in my opinion. The team has already gotten rid of Julio and Hawkins, hopefully Fuentes will be next. But what a great ride, September was a month to remember and Rocktober rocked.

Joel - Wow, I can't believe that another professional sports team is stealing an idea from the Rocks. BTW, we need to catch a game together sometime this year.

Urbs - I think that being down 3 games probably took the crowd out of it. I really don't understand what Hurdle was doing with his relief pitchers in Games 3 and 4. I also didn't understand why they abandoned small ball in the World Series. Boston generated runs taht way. Oh well. Glad you made it to a game.
