Homeland Security Advisory System

President George W. Bush went to an underground shelter Wednesday after security officials received a false alarm that an unidentified aircraft had entered restricted space near the White House. Vice President Dick Cheney was also taken to a secure location. Obviously, it turned out to be a false alarm, but it got me thinking. What happened to the Homeland Security terror threat levels? I remember those jumping up and down prior to the election. By the way, we are currently at the yellow level for those who give a crap about it.

Mr. Wide Awake,
I just overheard GWB comment on energy reform (during his lame, and I think, blundering press conference) that "when you liquefy it, when you put it in solid form [it's easier to ship]."
As a scientist, could you inform us about liquid, solid, and gas properties? My layman knowledge of the physics / science / whatever of things is that a liquid is definately NOT a solid. Am I wrong?
Thanks,
JSG

Hilarious! I love Bushisms like that. To the best of my knowledge, a substance can only have one of three properties. Solid, Liquid, or Gas

That terror alert will never drop below yellow during Bush's reign. Ever notice how whenever Kerry was surging or Bush screwed up before the election, the terror alert would be bumped up for a day or two. Got to keep the populace scared. Anything to distract the people from the imbicile in the White House.

What, are things supposed to be safer now than before the election? That advisory level is a bunch of bull.
