NBA Championship

Since 1979, only seven franchises have won the NBA title. The Lakers, Celtics, 76ers, Pistons, Bulls, Rockets and Spurs are the only teams to win a title in the last 27 years. Crazy, eh? That is one of the many reasons why I am looking forward to the NBA championsip series. Two exciting teams, with some big names (Shaq, Wade, Dirk, Cuban, Riley), should be able to put a nice cap on an already thrilling postseason. Let's hope that it doesn't provide a letdown similar to the NCAA this year, which followed the first four amazing rounds with a comparitively dull final four.

For those who are curious, during the same period, Major League Baseball has had 18 different franchises win the World Series, the NFL has had 13 franchises win the Super Bowl, and the NHL has had 11 Stanley Cup winners.

There are two reasons you shouldn't give a flying F about the NBA right now. One - no Suns.
Two - The World Cup starts tomorrow.
Who do you like in the biggest sporting event in the world, Niall?

Well, I need to look into it a little more, but Brazil is the team to beat, the Czechs are a darkhorse favorite, and France, Britain, and Germany could each pull it off. But I am pulling for the Ivory Coast or Trinidad & Tobago to just win a game.
